About Our Driveways Work

Concrete, asphalt, and gravel driveways built on a real base. Proper grading, drainage, and a finish that lasts decades — not a couple winters.

A driveway is the first thing people see and the last thing you want to redo. We build concrete, asphalt, and long gravel driveways on a properly excavated and compacted base, with the grade and drainage planned so water moves off — not under — the slab.

Who This Is For

  • Homeowners replacing a cracked or sinking driveway
  • Property owners on long rural drives needing fresh gravel and grading
  • New builds needing a fresh pour from the apron to the garage
  • Anyone tired of standing water and ruts in the driveway

What's Included

  • Demo and haul-off of existing driveway when needed
  • Sub-base excavation and compaction
  • Compacted crushed-stone base in lifts
  • Forming, rebar or fiber mesh for concrete pours
  • 4–6 inch concrete slab with proper control joints
  • Asphalt binder and surface course laid hot, rolled to spec
  • Long-driveway grading, crowning, and culvert installs
  • Apron tie-in to county or city standards

Our Process

  • Walk & quote

Measure, check existing grade and drainage, talk material — concrete, asphalt, or gravel. Written quote.

  • Excavate & base

Demo old surface, dig to depth, compact crushed-stone base. The base is what makes it last.

  • Form & pour

Set forms and rebar for concrete. Pour, finish, and saw-cut control joints. For asphalt: lay binder, then surface course, roll.

  • Cure & seal

Cure properly before traffic. Optional concrete sealer or asphalt seal coat after the first season.

Equipment We Run

  • Skid steers & mini excavators
  • Plate compactors and roller compactors
  • Concrete trucks coordinated
  • Asphalt paver and roller (subbed when needed)
  • Bobcat with grading box for long drives

Pricing

Concrete driveways in Kentucky run $7–$12 per square foot installed depending on thickness and reinforcement. Asphalt runs $4–$8 per square foot. A typical 600 sq ft two-car driveway lands $4,500–$7,500 in concrete. Long gravel driveway installs run $4–$9 per linear foot for a standard 10-foot-wide drive with proper base.

Driveways FAQs

  • Concrete or asphalt — which lasts longer?

Concrete usually wins on lifespan (30+ years vs 15–20 for asphalt) and looks better, but costs more upfront. Asphalt is cheaper, faster to install, and easier to patch. We do both — depends on your budget and how the driveway is used.

  • How long before I can drive on a new concrete driveway?

Foot traffic in 24 hours, light vehicles in 7 days, full loads in 28 days. We'll tape it off and tell you exactly when.

  • Why does my old driveway crack and sink?

Almost always a bad base. Cheap installs skip the excavation and compaction step. We dig deep, compact in lifts, and use the right reinforcement — that's why ours don't sink.

  • Can you fix the apron where it meets the road?

Yes. Most counties have specs for the apron tie-in (Jefferson, Bullitt, Nelson, Hardin all do). We pull the right of way permit when required and build to spec.
