Built By Eric & Jerry

Two owners. Direct line. Real work. No middleman, no salesperson, no surprises. Family-owned by Jerry Orm (father) and Eric Orm (son), based in Louisville, Kentucky.

Meet the Owners

  • Eric Orm — Co-Owner, Estimates & Concrete (502-498-3173)

Eric runs estimates, manages crews on-site, and handles concrete work himself. Twenty years on Kentucky job sites means he can spot a drainage problem from the truck and quote a foundation pour without a calculator. If you call E & J, Eric usually picks up.

  • Jerry Orm — Co-Owner, Excavation & Heavy Equipment (307-360-3336)

Jerry handles excavation, grading, and heavy equipment. He's the one in the cab of the Bobcat or behind the laser level making sure your pad is dead flat. Text him photos of your project and he'll get back to you the same day.

Why We Started This Company

We started this company because too many people in Kentucky were getting burned by contractors who didn't show up, didn't communicate, or padded quotes with hidden fees. We watched neighbors hire crews that walked off jobs, billed for work that never happened, and disappeared when the warranty came due.

Between the two of us, we've been moving dirt, pouring concrete, and running crews for over 20 years. We've worked everything from one-day driveway pours to multi-acre site prep. We know what Kentucky clay does to a slab if the base isn't right. We know what limestone bedrock costs when it shows up two feet into a basement dig. That's the kind of experience that keeps your project on budget.

When you call E & J, you're talking to one of us — not a salesperson, not a call center, not a kid in an office. Eric usually picks up. If he can't, Jerry will. We come look at every job ourselves before we quote it. We write down what we're doing, what it costs, and when we'll be done. Then we do it.

Our crews are small and steady. The same hands that quoted your job will be on it. We don't subcontract concrete work to whoever's cheapest that week. We don't pull a bait-and-switch on materials. We don't hit you with change orders for things we should have caught at the walk-through.

We carry general liability and workers comp on every job. We can produce certificates of insurance before any work begins — just ask. We're licensed for general contracting in Kentucky and pull the right permits for every jurisdiction we work in.

What We Do

  • Concrete Contractor

Driveways, pads, sidewalks, foundations, and flatwork — poured straight, finished clean, built to last on Kentucky soil.

  • Excavation Contractor

Basements, footings, ponds, trenches, and dig-outs. Real excavators, real operators, real day-rates without the surprise add-ons.

  • Grading Contractor

Rough grade, finish grade, drainage correction, and lot leveling. Water flows where you want it — away from the house.

  • Land Clearing Contractor

Lot clearing, brush hogging, stump removal, and forestry mulching. From overgrown weed lots to building-ready acreage.

  • Utility Installation Contractor

Water lines, sewer laterals, drainage, and underground utility trenching. Buried at the right depth, bedded in the right material.

  • Site Prep Contractor

Full site prep for new builds — clear, strip, cut, fill, compact, and stub utilities. Building-pad ready when we leave.

  • Deck Builder

Custom wood and composite decks built on real footings — multi-level, wraparound, screened, or simple. Built to outlast the neighbors.

  • Pergola Builder

Cedar, PT, and aluminum pergolas — freestanding or attached. Real footings, real beams, built to handle Kentucky wind and snow.

  • Covered Porch Builder

Roofed back porches, screen porches, and three-season rooms. Tied into your house's roofline like it was always there.

  • Patio & Outdoor Living Contractor

Paver patios, fire pits, retaining walls, and outdoor kitchens. Built on a real base so your patio doesn't shift in two winters.

  • Driveway Contractor

Concrete, asphalt, and gravel driveways built on a real base. Proper grading, drainage, and a finish that lasts decades — not a couple winters.

  • Retaining Wall Contractor

Segmental block, boulder, and poured concrete retaining walls. Built with the right drainage and geogrid so they don't bulge or fail in five years.
